Facebook Securely on Public Devices

Nowadays nobody can resist themselves from logging into Facebook when we see a computer or any other devices with an internet connection. All of us must have used our friend’s computer or a computer in Library, Office, Cyber cafes or a computer at any other public place to login to Facebook. But what if that computer had an application that can anyhow reveal your password? Or what if someone sees your password while you type?
Introducing Facebook’s One Time Passwords
Facebook’s one time password are the passwords that are valid for only 20 minutes and you can login with a password only once. If you request Facebook then it can send you the one time password. This request is to be made in the form of a message containing text “otp” from your registered mobile number with Facebook. When you send this message Facebook will reply to you with the password. Even if someone gets to know the password they cannot log into your account. This service can be used any number of times you want.
This service has a limited coverage though. It is supported by some of the mobile networks in a limited number of countries. To check if this service is available in your country and if your mobile operator allows this, you can refer to this page at Facebook.
